This limestone has a base colour of light grey. The stone is quarried from a seam where carbon has given the limestone blue pigmentation. The tiles are supplied with a honed finish and a diamond sawn square cut edge. Gascoigne blue limestone is suitable for use is all areas of the home, both floors and walls.
The tiles are very hard and consequently the stone is one of low porosity. There is a high concentration of shells and fossils within the tiles, which makes the floor one of our most interesting in terms of colour and character. When tiled with a tight grout joint a floor can appear almost seamless. The limestone can also be used very effectively on walls as well.
Gascogne blue is also known as blue moleanos limestone, and is an increasingly rare stone to source as the quarry is beginning to find it hard to find pure blue blocks.
